Highlights

  • Seven (7) uniform Holidays are recognized under the National Maintenance Agreements (NMAs)
    • New Year’s Day
    • President’s Day (Federal)
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day

 

  • Presidents’ Day may be considered as a floating holiday and celebrated on an alternate day if requested by the local building trades council and approved by the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee (NMAPC). If an alternate day is approved then Presidents’ Day will be considered a normal work day.
    • Site Extension Requests (SERs) will indicate if a particular facility is covered by Floating Holiday that has been approved by the NMAPC.

 

 

  • Holidays that fall on a Saturday are observed on the previous Friday.

 

  • Holidays that fall on Sunday are observed on the following Monday.

 

  • Employers (Contractors) are required to make all in-plant holidays known to the Union (Craft) and their employees in advance of the in-plant holiday.  Click here to view all approved NMAPC floating holidays, by state.
